- Dinah, the Madame from the Bunker on the Hill

“As a mother of 44 fine young pups
I’ve had enough of politics,”
says Dinah, the Madame from
the Big House on the Hill.
She prefers town councils roasted
slowly in the oven
red wine to gin and tonic
and fame bought with dinners
by those who can afford a
dish of fish and chips served
on shiny thousand dollar plates.
“Without me as Mayor,” she says,
“Town councils are a waste of time,
the sooner we abolish them the better.
Think of the money we can save
since I won’t be there to filibuster
and waste the public’s time
with my own
bullet proof
pet projects
guaranteed
to see me regain
my seat
in the next
election.”
She jumps on all the
bandwagons
campaigns for passing fads
corrals a certain female class
if they have time and lolly
to lash about
but for vagrant cats
who involve themselves in politics
she has no time at all.
“Vote for Buffalo Lil?
A cat like that?
Not on your sweet life.
The council is what I
prefer to see the end of.”
Poor Dinah, the Madame
from the Great Big Bunker on the hill
as usual is sounding rather shrill.
